The hostess accommodated our early arrival by escorting our party of four to our table. We made our reservations through OpenTable with the comment that we were celebrating a birthday. The ambiance of the restaurant is very art deco with its elegant and stylish modernism and sets the mood for a warm and relaxing evening. Our dining experience began with cocktails from the bar and an array of appetizers. The clam chowder was made to perfection and served at the right temperature. Everyone was in agreement that the shrimp cocktail was fresh and tasteful. The coconut shrimp was a bit bland and did not offer the usual robust flavor that we have been accustomed to experiencing. Three of us ordered an entrée that contained meaty crabcakes. The chef followed the guidelines for perfecting the filets to order. The one well-done filet was butterflied and served as ordered and the medium filet had a touch of pink in the center. The salmon was fresh and pleasing to the palate. The sides were abundant for two to share with plenty of leftovers. Coffee was prepared in a French press and served piping hot. Our waitress requested us to select two desserts as part of our birthday celebration. The chocolate tort cake was favored by all and the key lime crème brulee was a light ending to an excellent meal.
